A permanent bronze monument honoring Alford Herman "Herm" Hubbard #34 — placed in the heart of Newark, Delaware, where his story began and where his legacy lives on.

The Hubbard Monument Project will commission a life-size bronze sculpture of Alford Herman "Herm" Hubbard in his classic batting stance — the same stance that drove 18 home runs and 106 RBIs in the 1959 season, leading the entire Milwaukee Braves minor league system.
The monument will be placed in a prominent public location in Newark, Delaware — accompanied by a granite plaque bearing his story, his statistics, and the words that define his legacy: "A talent never fully realized. A legacy never forgotten."
This monument will stand as a permanent reminder that Newark, Delaware produced a world-class athlete — and that the community never forgot him.

Foundation & Fundraising
Establish the foundation, build community awareness, and launch the monument fundraising campaign through GoFundMe and Cash App.
Site Selection & Approval
Work with the City of Newark and community stakeholders to identify and secure the ideal permanent location for the monument.
Artist Commission
Commission a sculptor to create the life-size bronze statue of Herm Hubbard in his batting stance.
Fabrication
Bronze casting and fabrication of the monument, pedestal, and engraved granite plaque.
Dedication Ceremony
A public unveiling ceremony bringing together the Hubbard family, Newark community, and Delaware officials to dedicate the monument.
